MOXA Unveils IP67/68-Rated Wireless Access Point/Bridge and AP Client for Outdoors
Taipei, Taiwan, Sep. 24, 2007 - MOXA is pleased to announce the release of two new industrial wireless products for outdoor use. The AWK-1200 series includes an Access Point/Bridge, and an AP Client, both of which have a rugged IP67/68 certified weatherproof casing to withstand extreme environmental conditions. The robust features and deployment flexibility make the AWK-1200 series products ideally suited for outdoor industrial applications.
Weatherproof design, flexible deployment, maximum security
As a leading provider of industrial wireless products, MOXA is committed to providing wireless solutions that are suitable for today's industrial wireless applications. Because of the increased interest in using wireless connectivity for outdoor applications such as windmill farms and highway tunnels, MOXA has taken the initiative to produce the first IP67/68-certified wireless Access Point/Bridge and AP Client. Both products are designed to withstand the harmful effects caused by rain, dust, and hot temperatures.
The AWK-1200 series products are fully compliant with IEEE802.11g/b. The robust mechanical design offers seamless protection against the effects of dust and water, and as an added bonus, the products support the IEEE802.3af PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) protocol to eliminate the need to for expensive electrical work in outdoor environments. The AWK-1200's detachable antenna design gives users the freedom to use a variety of special-purpose antennas. Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless connection
The AWK-1200 can be used for Point-to-Point (PTP) and Point-to-Multipoint (PTMP) wireless communication to allow multiple locations to share a single Internet connection. Outdoor wireless networks that use the AWK-1200 extend connectivity beyond the building walls and wired backbones to deliver cost-effective service, and expand information access to the outdoors.
Extend signal coverage with the right antenna
The AWK-1200 has a detachable antenna design, which gives users the flexibility of choosing from a variety of special-purpose antennas for the widest coverage. MOXA also offers directional and omni-directional antennas for users' extended transmission.
