SmartPACS Provides High Security with Full Compliance

Santa Maria, CA - Quintron Systems, Inc. (www.quintron.com), the recognized leader in advanced interoperable voice systems, physical access control and intrusion detection systems, today announced its new AccessNsite(TM) SmartPACS(TM) HSPD-12 solution. "With Quintron's multi-decade government systems sales and support experience, we decided
to invest in a fully compliant, high security, HSPD-12 solution for existing and new federal, state, local, and critical infrastructure customers," said Richard
Finnegan, vice president and general manager at Quintron. "SmartPACS leverages the high security capabilities built into all versions of the federally issued smart card credentials now in use for verified user identification and logical security controls. This data is then applied to physical access controls as intended in the HSPD-12 Presidential Directive and supported by the NIST Publication 800-116 for best practices in PACS applications."

Through internal development and a partnership with BridgePoint Systems, Inc.,
Quintron has produced an AccessNsite SmartPACS HSPD-12 hardware and software solution that encompasses OCSP smart card certificate validation via the Federal Bridge at the time of card enrollment and periodically thereafter. This solution includes a secure repository that maintains certificates extracted from the smart card during enrollment via a three factor reader, an IP-based 2-door control panel capable of full FASCN and UUID based smart card comparison, and both transparent and unique challenge-response readers capable of detecting and denying access based on the threat from cloned or copied smart cards.

"Quintron's more than 40 years of experience in mission critical communications and
security solutions leverages our in-house expertise, engineering, and knowledge to
deliver trusted, tailor-made solutions to channel partners and end user organizations,
and provide superior service that enhances customer value," added Finnegan.

"SmartPACS compliments a broader offering of integrated access control, alarm
management, video surveillance, and voice communications for small, medium, and
large enterprise-class customers across many categories of organizations."
