Potomac, Maryland-January 26, 2004-Airbee Wireless Inc., (Pink Sheets: ABEW), innovators of intelligent software for wireless communications, announced today that it is now trading as a public company on the pink sheets under the symbol ABEW. In addition, the Company announced the release of its first UltraLite(TM) series Medium Access Control (MAC) Software.

The Airbee UltraLite(TM) MAC is an intelligent wireless protocol stack software that resides on a microchip and facilitates communications for short range wireless devices. This product release supports peer to peer topology using a proprietary communication protocol that facilitates communication between any two wireless devices powered by the Airbee UltraLiteTM MAC. It is the first in a planned series of products that will support wireless networking in Star and Mesh topologies and in combinations of these.

The UltraLite(TM) MAC has a low memory footprint and can be employed in many practical applications, such as industrial automation/SCADA, home automation, office automation, appliances, medical device monitoring, toys, and a number of other applications primarily in the WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) space. The UltraLite(TM) MAC provides a reliable secure connection and authenticated data communication between peer devices.

"The 'lows' offered by UltraLite(TM) such as its memory footprint size, cost, power, and productization effort make it an ideal choice for IC and RF module vendors in the WPAN application space," said Airbee's Chief Technical Officer, Ram Satagopan. "Airbee is developing a series of software topology products for the UltraLite(TM) MAC with power packed features, and plans a number of complementary releases in the near future. These will include products compatible to the specifications of IEEE 802.15.4, Zigbee and IEEE 802.15.3."

Peer to peer topology provides rapid, reliable synchronization and communication between two devices where low power consumption is critical. UltraLite(TM) also is an ideal product for an array of battery-powered personal electronic devices such as PDAs, headsets and several other similar devices.

About the Company
