Model 27AM1 ISOTRON(R) Accelerometer Measures Vibration on Mini-Structures and Small Objects

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. - December 26, 2001 - Endevco Corporation's new Model 27AM1 ISOTRON accelerometer is an extremely small, adhesive-mounted device with integral electronics designed specifically for measuring vibration on lightweight structures such as automotive components, miniature electronic devices and various small objects. This accelerometer offers high resonance frequency and a wide bandwidth (0.3 Hz to 20 kHz). Its light weight (1.2 gm) effectively eliminates mass
loading concerns. Packaged in a hermetically sealed, titanium case, the Model 27AM1 measures 6.4 mm (0.25 in.) wide, 10.8 mm (0.43 in.) long, and 4.8 mm (0.19 in.) high. Full scale range is ± 500g's for the 27AM1-10 (10mV/g) and ± 50g's for the 27AM1-100
(100 mV/g). Operational temperature range is -55°C to 125°C (-67°F to 257°F).

A field-replaceable, highly flexible, miniature cable is supplied with the accelerometer as a standard accessory, and mates to the outside thread M3 receptacle of the 27AM1. The accelerometer is case grounded, with an electrical isolator base supplied as a standard accessory for isolated mount applications.

The Model 27AM1 features Endevco's PIEZITE® Type P-8 crystal element, operating in annual shear mode, which exhibits excellent output sensitivity stability over time. This accelerometer incorporates an internal hybrid signal conditioner in a two-wire system which transmits a low-impedance voltage output through the same cable that supplies the constant current power. A tool is included in the package to ensure proper removal
of the accelerometer from its mounting surface.

Endevco's Signal Conditioner Models 4416B, 133, 2792B, 2793, 2775B or OASIS 2000 Computer-Controlled System are recommended for use with these accelerometers.

Endevco Corporation is the world's leading designer and manufacturer of dynamic instrumentation for vibration, shock and pressure measurement. The company's comprehensive line of piezoelectric, piezoresistive, variable capacitance, ISOTRON®
and servo force balance accelerometers are used to solve measurement problems in a wide variety of industries including aerospace automotive, defense, medical, industrial and marine. Other products include pressure transducers, microphones, electronic instruments, and calibration systems.
