New 1 - 1/2 hp AC Gearmotors from Bison Gear Unveiled During National Manufacturing Week

Chicago, IL - - Bison Gear & Engineering Corp. located in St. Charles, IL is introducing an all new series of parallel shaft AC gearmotors during National Manufacturing Week. Available in 5 gear ratios ranging from 5.8:1 to 42.8:1 the 880 series gearmotors produce up to 1060 in-lbs. of continuous duty torque. Application for these totally enclosed, fan cooled, gearmotors include: Food preparation, chemical mixers, automatic feeders, and packaging equipment.

Two 1-1/2 hp motor options provide the specifier with the option of a single phase 115/230 VAC 50/60 Hz motor or a three phase 230/460 VAC 50/60 Hz motor for greater efficiencies, and heavy duty inverter applications. The totally enclosed fan cooled motors are protected from common hazards. Each of the motors feature: Permanently lubricated shielded bearings that have been preloaded to reduce end play, and a dynamically balanced rotor shaft for smooth running. In addition the three phase motor utilizes a class F UL recognized insulation system designed to meet NEMA MG1 Section 31 standards and protect against voltage spikes. Both motors bear the UL, CE, and CUL marks.

The 880 series two and three stage integral gear cases feature: Precision (AGMA grade 9) hobbed gears that have been induction heat treated for maximum durability. The helical high speed mesh is skive hobbed for minimum gear noise. Oil bath lubrication in the permanetly sealed gear cases assures long gear and bearing life and allows for mounting in any position. The gear train and output shafts are heat treated for maximum durability, and heavy duty ball and needle bearings minimize noise and maximize life.

Bison Gear & Engineering Corp. located in St. Charles, IL has been supplying gearmotors, reducers, and motors for heavy duty commercial products and applications for almost 45 years. A member of the American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA), Bison meets and has helped set industry standards for gearmotors and reducers. Bison's quality/design philosophy of "Robusticity(TM)" is one of the many reasons their gearmotors, reducers, and motors are found in many of industries most demanding applications.
