Yaskawa's Versatile GPD 506/P5 AC Drive Now Available in 600Volt Rating
WAUKEGAN, Ill., January 3, 2002 -- The GPD 506/P5, Yaskawa's dedicated AC drives for fans and pumps, is now available for installations with input power requirements of 600VAC.
Available in ratings to 200 hp at 600VAC, the GPD 506/P5 provides an English/ French-language keypad and display that facilitates input and monitoring of operating parameters.
Network communication is provided through a RS-232 serial communication port, with optional interface cards for Johnson Controls Metasys N2®, Lonworks®, ModBus® RS485, Siemens-APOGEE® and DeviceNet®.
For applications such as centrifugal fans and pumps, the drive features Inverse PID and a "sleep" function. This function allows certain operations to be blocked out when their demands fall below levels producing measurable benefits, then reactivated
automatically when needed. Additionally, undertorque detection is provided to alert operators to conditions including broken fan belts.
The drive's 98 percent efficiency rating extracts additional energy savings from a standard motor through an automatic voltage optimizing algorithm built into the software.
Features include dc injection braking, critical frequency rejection, momentary power loss override, speed search, overtorque and undertorque detection, multi-step speed operation and accel/decel time selection. Protective functions include motor overload, overheat, overcurrent, undercurrent, phase loss and ground fault.
The drive is globally compatible, conforming to CE, UL and CUL requirements. In addition to the new 600 volt ratings to 200 HP, the GPD 506/P5 is available to 125 HP at 230 volt and 500 HP at 460 volt.
