Original Press Release:

Lambda's New Ultra-Thin AC-DC Power Supplies Deliver up to 300W in Half the Space; with a 5-Year Warranty

SAN DIEGO, May 21, 2007 - Lambda has introduced an ultra-thin, single-output AC-DC power supply that is 50% smaller and 60% lighter than typical supplies with the same ratings, making the new RTW series especially ideal for use in electronic equipment demanding small size. Depending on the power rating, dimensions vary from 3.23 x 0.87 x 4.9 inches to 4.72 x 1.57 x 9.84 inches, at weights ranging from 0.64 to 2.86 lbs.

RTW series power supplies are offered in 50-, 100-, 150- and 300-watt versions and operate from a wide input range of 85 to 265VAC, 47 to 66Hz. Models are available with nominal outputs of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24, 28 and 48 volts - which users can adjust to suit special requirements - and feature oovervoltage and overcurrent protection. The supplies boast efficiencies as high as 89%, ensuring low power losses with minimized heat generation, and come with a five-year warranty.

Other features include PFHC (power factor and harmonic correction) per EN61000-3-2 standards, remote sense, remote on-off, a voltage adjustment potentiometer mounted on the front panel, and a green output-on LED indicator.

The 300W models will accept an external voltage adjustment signal that can be used to vary the power supply's voltage. These models can also be used in a master-slave mode, where the output voltage of the slave tracks that of the master. The 300W supplies also feature a power-fail signal and a current-balance function that allows true load-sharing for up to four supplies connected in parallel. For redundant N+1 applications, external user-provided diodes can be placed in series with the output of each supply.

The units can be mounted either vertically or horizontally, are available with or without metal covers, and include screw-terminal connections.

All models are RoHS compliant, have an integral EMI filter that meets FCC-Class B conducted and radiated specifications, are safety-approved to UL/CSA/EN60950-1 standards, and carry the CE mark.

RTW series power supplies are available now, priced from $75 each in 100-unit quantities. More information can be found at Lambda's Web site: www.lambdapower.com.
