AC-DC Power Supplies suit medical and industrial applications.

Press Release Summary:

With typical efficiency up to 94% and flat efficiency curve over virtually entire load range, CCL400 Series does not require forced air cooling. Units can continuously deliver full 400 W output with convection cooling over temperature range of -40 to +50°C. Series comprises 4 single-output models that provide nominal output voltage of +12, +24, +30, and +48 Vdc. Measuring 3.95 x 7.00 x 1.57 in., power supplies comply with standard 1U chassis mount format.

Original Press Release:

Smallest 400 Watt Convection Cooled Power Supply for Medical and Industrial Applications

XP Power today announced the CCL400 series of highly efficient convection cooled 400 Watt AC-DC power supplies. With a typical efficiency up to 94% and a flat efficiency curve over virtually the entire load range, the CCL400 does not require any forced air cooling. With little heat generated due to the high efficiency, the components within the CCL400 run at lower temperatures, leading to increased reliability and service life. Unlike products currently in the market, the CCL400 can continuously deliver the full 400 Watt output with convection cooling over the wide temperature range from -40 degrees C to +50 degrees C and across almost the entire input voltage range. The CCL400 can also be conduction cooled, enabling the full 400W across the entire input range and up to +70C ambient temperature.

Measuring 3.95 x 7.00 x 1.57 inches (100.3 x 177.8 x 39.9 mm) the CCL400 complies with the standard 1U chassis mount format. An optional enclosing cover is available to order.

The CCL400 range comprises 4 single-output models that provide the popular nominal output voltages of + 12, + 24, + 30 or + 48 VDC. A user trim function provides output voltage adjustment of +/- 3% of stated nominal in order to accommodate load losses. The series conforms to the ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 medical 3rd edition safety standard and also complies with the internationally recognized IEC/UL/EN60950-1 safety standard for IT equipment.

Protection features and control signals include power fail signal, remote sense and remote on/off. A +5 VDC / 0.5 A always-on output is available to power logic circuits.

Typical applications for the CCL400 include medical systems such as life support, imaging and blood processing equipment. In particular, since no cooling fans are used, the units are ideal for medical systems that stipulate low audible noise specifications. The series also suit use in a wide range of industrial and technology solutions that require a very high power density from a convection or conduction cooled power supply.

The CCL400 series is priced at $206.70 for 500 pcs and comes with a 3 year warranty.
