AC Current Sensor requires no external power.

Press Release Summary:

Loop powered DCSA Series linear output current transformer provides output that is directly proportional to rms ac current passing through external LCSC10T12 toroidal sensor. Output can be 4-20 mA, 1-5 Vdc, or 2-10 Vdc. It is available in ranges of 0-5, 0-10, and 0-50 A, making it suitable for measuring current draw on motors, fans, lamps, heaters, solenoids, and valves. The 0-5 A range allows use of second transformer to monitor loads up to 1,200 A.

Loop Powered AC Current Transducer: DCSA Series

SSAC Inc. is pleased to announce its new DCSA Series AC current transducer and LCSC10T12 accessory toroidal sensor.

The DCSA Series is a loop powered (no supply voltage is required), linear output current transformer that provides an output that is directly proportional to the RMS AC current passing through the external LCSC10T12 toroidal sensor.

The DCSA Series is intended for cost sensitive OEM applications. It is ideal for sensing the current draw on equipment such as motors, fans, lamps, heaters, solenoids, valves, and more. It provides the OEM equipment designer with closed loop control at a price not available before. Its compact size (2.56" x 2.44" x 0.71"), DIN 1 or DIN 3 rail mounting, and wire clamp screw terminals were all selected to provide the OEM design engineer with the lowest possible installed cost.

This device provides either an analog current or voltage: 4 to 20 mA,1 to 5 V DC, or 2 to 10 V DC. Each unit is factory calibrated for monitoring (with the LCSC10T12 connected) from 0 to 5 A, 0 to 10 A, 0 to 20 A, or 0 to 50 A. Additionally, the 0 to 5 A range allows the use of second external current transformer (used in conjunction with the LCSC10T12) to monitor loads up to 1200 AC amps. Zero and span adjustments allow field calibration if needed.

The DCSA Series and LCSC10T12 are UL Recognized, CSA Certified, and have the CE mark. Additionally, these devices are backed by SSAC's 10 year product warranty and are available through distributors world wide.
