Baldor Announces New Versaflex(TM) Line of AC and DC Drives

Baldor Electric Company, Fort Smith, Arkansas based manufacturer of energy saving industrial electric motors, drives and generators, announces the new VersaFlex(TM) line of AC and DC drives. The new controls feature protected chassis enclosures, selectable feedback with option boards, auto-tune, a compact size and application programs. Design features include peak overload capacity of 150% for 30 seconds, 200% for 1 second, and assignable analog inputs and outputs.

VersaFlex(TM) AC inverter drives are available in open-loop configurations of 1/3 through 2 HP, 198-264 VAC, single phase, 50/60 Hz; 3 through 5 HP, 198-264 VAC, three phase, 50/60 Hz, and 1/2 through 10 HP, 342-506 VAC, three phase, 50/60 Hz.

VersaFlex(TM) encoderless vector drives are available in open-loop vector configurations of 1/3 through 2 HP, 198-264 VAC, single phase, 50/60 Hz; 3 through 60 HP, 198-264 VAC, three phase, 50/60 Hz, and 1/2 through 150 HP, 342-506 VAC, three phase, 50/60 Hz.

VersaFlex(TM) vector drives in closed-loop configurations are available from 1 through 3 HP, 198-264 VAC, single phase, 50/60 Hz; 1 through 60 HP, 198-264 VAC; three phase, 50/60 Hz, and 1 through 500 HP, 342-506 VAC, three phase, 50/60 Hz.

VersaFlex(TM) AC drives can be applied to variable torque, constant torque or constant horsepower applications. Features include output frequency of 0 to 240 Hz; separate acel/decel rates and controlled reversing; digital operator control and display; and optional setup using Workbench PC software.

New VersaFlex(TM) Digital DC SCR Controls are now available from 5 Hp through 300 Hp, 198-550 VAC, 3 phase, 50/60 Hz. Applications include plastic extruding machines and conveyors where constant torque is needed.

VersaFlex(TM) Line Regenerative Digital DC SCR Controls are also available from Baldor in 5 Hp through 300 HP, 198-550 VAC, 3 phase, 50/60 Hz. Features include protected chassis enclosures, selectable feedback and bus communication with option boards, auto-tune, and application programs. Applications include constant torque needed by cranes, hoists, carriage drives, veneer lathes and conveyors.
