A New Angle from HEIDENHAIN
SCHAUMBURG, IL - (September 2003) - HEIDENHAIN CORPORATION introduces its newest absolute angle encoders with a system accuracy of ± 1 angular second. This higher accuracy has been made possible by advancements in bearings and the optimization of the scanning process with signal enhancement.
The following new versions of HEIDENHAIN's RCN series are available:
o RCN 827 - with HEIDENHAIN's EnDat interface
o RCN 823 - with Fanuc interface
o RCN 823 - with Mitsubishi interface
Because of their dynamic accuracy, these encoders with their integral bearing and stator coupling are the preferred units for high-precision applications such as rotary tables and swivel heads on machine tools, telescopes or spectrometers.
These RCN encoders can be designed with one scanning unit on the main track (with 32,768 grating periods) and therefore fulfill all requirements of machine tool design and except for the higher accuracy, have the same specifications as the RCN 727 and RCN 723. They all have a hollow through shaft and a diameter of 60 mm.
