Michelman's Nomar(TM) Series Provides Abrasion Resistant Coatings for Corrugated Shipping Containers
CINCINNATI, OH (November 30, 2005) - Michelman's Nomar(TM) Series abrasion resistant coating meets market requirements for non-scuff performance of corrugated shipping containers.
When shipping items, as small as a box of cereal or as large as a dishwasher, the Nomar(TM) Series coating eliminates the common abrasion that occurs between the inside of the shipping containers and the packaged items while in-transit; allowing for scratch-free goods that are ready for sale upon arrival. The need for abrasion resistance has increased dramatically as recycled fibers replace softer virgin-kraft fibers. Furthermore, painted products, which are often packed less than fully cured, require closer attention to non-scuff coating choice and application.
Nomar(TM) Series coatings are environmentally friendly due to their waterbased composition. While not recommended for skid resistance and water resistance protection, the Nomar(TM) Series coatings are FDA approved and can withstand the heat of corrugation, will not transfer on to the packaged items, and are gluable with most water-based and hot-melt adhesives.
