ABB to Feature an IRB 1200 Robot Paired with the PickOne Perception System at MODEX 2016 in Atlanta

The innovative vision system is designed for singulation tasks often found in Third Party Logistics and Mail Order Fulfillment Companies

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – ABB Robotics will feature an IRB 1200 robot paired with the PickOne Perception system at MODEX 2016, April 4th -7th at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. PickOne is an innovative vision system designed for singulation tasks often found in Third Party Logistics (3PLs) and Mail Order Fulfillment companies. ABB will share a booth (#957) with Baldor Electric, a member of the ABB Group.

The PickOne System is designed to provide pick point selection for singulation operations, utilizing a vision system to identify a single object from a bin, tray or pile of identical, similar or varied products, and feed the pick location to a robot. With the location identified an ABB IRB 1200 robot (700mm reach / 7kg payload) then picks and places the part on a conveyor for further processing. The system can work with any ABB robot, with the throughput performance determined by the payload and speed of the selected model. Additional PickOne systems can be used at the “place” location to verify the singulation process was successful.

Baldor will be featuring the new Baldor-Reliance® PS1200 Gearmotor platform, a precision-matched gearhead and motor offering optimized performance. Also on display will be DC motors and controls, servo motors and Super-E® NEMA Premium® efficient Baldor-Reliance products, and the new Baldor-Dodge Raptor coupling.
