ABB Announces Agreement with Quality Power for Air Core Reactor Distribution

Dallas, Texas – ABB Capacitors and Filters business completes agreement with Quality Power to supply high quality Air Core Reactors to ABB customers in North America.

ABB today announced it has completed an exclusive agreement with Quality Power for the supply of Air Core Reactors to ABB customers in North America.

The ABB Capacitor and Filter product team in Quebec City will immediately begin to provide proposals and support for these reactors. The agreement allows ABB to expand its product offering for transmission shunt reactors, current limiting inrush reactors, harmonic filter reactors and grounding reactors and other applications.

“This agreement provides ABB with a great opportunity to expand its product offering around these reactors for many different applications,” said Pier-Andre Rancourt, General Manager, ABB Capacitors and Filters, North America. “Since reactors and capacitors are both utilized for increasing system efficiency, power quality and reliability, it only makes sense to take advantage of this strong synergy and offer them to our valued customers. In addition, Quality Power is compliant with ABB’s Supplier Sustainability Development Program.”

The Air Core Reactors provide greater efficiency, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHAS 18000 approved manufacturing IEEE C57 and IEC 60076-6 requirements, an air core dry type epoxy encapsulated cylindrical design, a +/- 0.5% tolerance for superior tuning, aluminum and copper winding options, and a lightweight solution with low losses.

ABB will be demonstrating the Air Core Reactor solution at the 2016 IEEE PES Conference and Exhibition in Dallas, at the ABB booth (#5216). For more information, contact the inquiry mailbox at: us-reactor@abb.com.
