AAEON Showcases Customization Potential with the Award-Winning PICO-BT01 Board

(Taipei, Taiwan) – AAEON®, a major developer of industrial computing solutions, will soon announce the availability of the PICO-BT01 board, winner of the 23rd Taiwan Excellence Awards.
Measuring 100mm x 72mm, this PICO-ITX board is among the smallest in the company’s Single Board Computer (SBC) offerings. In addition, a heat-spreader can be installed to the board’s underside to offers ease in implementing system thermal solutions. Equipped with USB3.0 and USB2.0 ports, dual MiniCard interfaces, DisplayPort, VGA (shared with DP), and 18/24-bit LVDS, the PICO-BT01 makes a viable option for any portable applications.
Expansion needs are fulfilled with the incorporation of a proprietary high-speed BIO interface for a daughterboard, which can be customized to include 3/4G, GPS, Touchscreen controller, TPM capabilities, additional USB ports as well as other components, enhancing the main board’s existing features and ensuring flexibility and upgradability.
The customization potential, along with its small size and rich features, earned the PICO-BT01 the Taiwan Excellence Award for 2014, an award which serves as a benchmark for excellence for any products that bear the “Made in Taiwan” label.
“We designed the components on the PICO-BT01 like toy bricks, where they can be moved as the client pleases” said Ben Hsu, Product Manager of AAEON’s Embedded Computing Division. “Whether they want the daughterboard to be placed on top of or alongside the main PICO board, we will do it”.
Two daughterboards, one with MiniCard w/SIM slot or GbE LAN port and the other with two USB 2.0 ports, are currently available to order.
