A Time for Consumers to Celebrate: Verizon's FiOS TV Arrives in 16 Additional New Jersey Communities

Verizon Now Delivers the Nation's Premier Video and Internet Service to Consumers in 196 New Jersey Communities

Consumers Can Bundle FiOS TV, FiOS Internet and Voice Service for as Little as $94.99 a Month

NEWARK, N.J., June 5 -- Video choice and competition arrived for consumers in 16 additional New Jersey communities Tuesday (June 5) after Verizon turned on its amazing FiOS TV and Internet services in six counties. With the latest addition, Verizon is now offering its award-winning service to consumers in parts of 196 communities around the state, with many more soon to come.

"The response to FiOS TV in New Jersey has been simply spectacular," said Dennis Bone, president of Verizon New Jersey. "Every day, more and more consumers are telling us they're tired of their disco-era cable TV provider and that they want to become a part of the fiber-optic revolution."

And they can get a great value with a bundle of FiOS Internet, FiOS TV and Verizon's ultra-reliable voice service for as little as $94.99 a month.

Consumers in parts of the following towns now have an opportunity to say good-bye to cable: Chesterfield, Evesham, New Hanover, North Hanover, Pemberton Township, Springfield and Wrightstown in Burlington County; Berlin Borough, Berlin Township, Chesilhurst, Pine Hill, Waterford and Winslow in Camden County; Hopewell Borough in Mercer County; and Maywood and Rochelle Park in Bergen County. These 16 communities join 180 other New Jersey cities and towns where FiOS TV is now available, the only television service delivered over the nation's most advanced fiber-optic network straight to consumers' homes.

"Our commitment is to bring these great new products and services to as many communities and consumers in New Jersey as quickly as possible," said William Foshay, general manager for the New Jersey region. "Our all-fiber- optic upgrade is a complete transformation of Verizon's communications network. We're offering consumers the very best services at competitive prices with Verizon's unmatched reliability and great customer service."

Consumers can check online at www.verizon.com/fiostv to see if FiOS TV is already available in their area, or to request that Verizon contact them when FiOS TV is available. Consumers also can call their local Verizon sales office or 1-877-4-FIOS-TV (1-877-434-6788).

Service Highlights, Great Bundle Offers

Verizon's FiOS TV Premier package delivers 200 all-digital channels for $42.99 per month. In the New Jersey market, FiOS TV customers have access to 28 high-definition (HD) channels and approximately 8,600 on-demand titles, 60 percent of which are free.

Verizon offers three set-top boxes: standard definition for $4.99 per month; high definition, which includes HD channels, for $9.99 per month; and a dual-tuner, HD-capable digital video recorder for $12.99 per month.

Verizon also offers innovative features not available from other providers, such as Home Media DVR (digital video recorder) and FiOS TV Widgets. Home Media DVR, at $19.99 per month, has a multi-room DVR feature enabling up to three simultaneous viewings of recorded programs without requiring customers to set up a complex home network or buy extra equipment. Customers also can access photos and music on their PCs and play them on their TV. FiOS TV Widgets is a free interactive feature that provides viewers with local weather and traffic information while they're watching their favorite shows.

In addition to FiOS TV, consumers can get super-fast Internet access over Verizon's all-fiber network. FiOS Internet service delivers download speeds of up to 30 Mbps (megabits per second) and upload speeds of up to 5 Mbps.*

Verizon is offering new two-service and three-service packages of voice, FiOS Internet and TV products. In the two-service package, customers can purchase Verizon's Freedom Essentials calling plan - which includes three popular calling features, unlimited local and domestic long-distance calling - with FiOS Internet service at a download speed of up to 5 Mbps for $69.99 a month for a two-year commitment. Customers also can add FiOS TV Premier Service to the package for a total of $94.99 a month for a two-year commitment.

In addition to New Jersey, Verizon currently offers FiOS TV in parts of California, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia. The company is preparing to offer FiOS TV in parts of Indiana and Rhode Island.

The value of FiOS TV extends to installation and customer support. Specially trained Verizon technicians will install the service and acquaint subscribers with FiOS TV features and services. Verizon is waiving the installation fee for up to three existing TV outlets, and there is no charge to install a needed optical network terminal at the subscriber's home. Charges for other installation services, such as additional outlets, may apply. Verizon provides 24x7 technical assistance by phone from its specialized Fiber Solutions Centers.
