A/D VME Board handles high frequency applications.

Press Release Summary:

Model 6802 has 32 channels of delta sigma A/D conversion with extremely precise, linear-phase low pass filtering. Each A/D has 24 bits of resolution at sampling rates from 1 kHz to 216 kHz. Front-panel sync input signal allows synchronization of multiple 6802 boards. Outputs of up to eight 6802 boards, for maximum of 256 channels, can be combined over single FPDP cable. Data tagging is also available to correlate channel number and sampled data.

Pentek Delivers New Multi-Channel, High-Density A/D VME Board for High-Frequency Applications with Twice the Sampling Rate

- Industry Standard High-Speed Front-Panel Data Port (FPDP) Interface
- Multiplexing and Synchronization of up to 256 Channels over a Single Cable
- Built-In Programmable Gain Amplifiers Save System Space and Cost
- Supports a Multitude of COTS D/A Converters, Digital Receivers, Memory, PowerPC and C6000 DSP Boards

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJ-April 1, 2002-Pentek, Inc. today announced a new 32-channel A/D converter 6U VME board, a stellar addition to their I/O board family of nearly 60 products. The Model 6802 features twice the performance and four times the number of channels of other VME solutions. The board includes on-board programmable gain instrumentation amplifiers and anti-aliasing filters, creating a very high-density solution. The new 6U A/D converter also features an FPDP (front panel data port) output interface that supports a multitude of COTS FPDP peripherals from Pentek and other manufacturers, including D/A converters, digital receivers, memory boards as well as Motorola G4 PowerPC and Texas Instruments C6000 processor boards.

"By doubling the sampling rate to over 200 kHz while maintaining excellent channel-to-channel phase matching and 24-bit resolution, the 6802 helps our customers tackle new wideband sonar, vibration analysis, and ultrasonic applications," said Rodger Hosking, Pentek. "With its built-in programmable gain instrumentation, this new 32-channel converter eliminates the need for a separate amplifier or daughter board. At less than $250 per channel, no other offering in the market today delivers such a powerful and cost-effective solution."

Inside the Model 6802
The Model 6802 offers 32 channels of delta sigma A/D conversion with extremely precise, linear-phase low pass filtering. Each A/D features 24 bits of resolution at sampling rates ranging from 1 kHz to 216 kHz. The front-panel sync input signal allows the synchronization of multiple 6802 boards. In addition, outputs of up to eight 6802 boards, for a maximum of 256 channels, can be combined over a single FPDP cable to support a range of system configurations. Data tagging is also available to correlate the channel number and the sampled data.

Pricing and Availability
The Pentek Model 6802 is immediately available with delivery 12 weeks ARO. U.S. list price starts at $7,995.
