Functionally Complete 10MSPS Dual Sampling A/D Converter Delivers Class Leading Performance in High-Speed Data Acquisition Systems

o 14-bit resolution; 10MSPS sampling rate A/D Converter
o Functionally complete module in standard 40-pin SMT package
o Two versions offer standard and military temperature ratings

July 13th, 2006, Mansfield, MA - C&D Technologies has introduced a new fully integrated, dual sampling 10MSPS (mega sample per second), 14-bit resolution analog-to-digital-converter (A/D Converter). The ADSD-1410S complements C&D's 2MSPS A/D Converter, the ADSD-1402S.

The functionally complete ADSD-1410S is ideally suited for use in high-speed data acquisition systems that demand low-noise and high performance. Typical applications include medical instruments, radar I/Q, Digital Signal Processors, plus other instrumentation and ATE for both commercial and military applications.

Housed in a standard 40-pin triple-wide SMT DIP, the ADSD-1410S is available in two versions. The standard product is rated for use between ambient temperatures of 0ºC and +70ºC, while the ADSD-1410S-EX is suitable for use between -55ºC and +125ºC. The module delivers 'no-missing-code' performance across its full operating temperature range.

Ideal for both time and frequency domain applications, the ADSD-1410S has an input range of ±2.5V and boasts a comprehensive list of standard features. Included are two fast-settling sample/hold amplifiers, two 14-bit A/D Converters, multiplexed output buffers, a precision reference, edge triggering, and all the necessary timing and control logic to operate from either two, or a single-start convert pulse.

The modules provide a range pin function that allows easy changes to be made to the analog input range. The digital output power supply of the ADSD-1410S is capable of directly driving either 5V or 3V logic systems.

The class leading specification of the ADSD-1410S includes a signal-to-noise ratio of 76dB and total harmonic distortion of -83dB, as well as superior integral non-linearity and differential non-linearity performance.

The modules, which require only a ±5V supply and typically consume just 1.6W, are optimized for wideband frequency domain applications and are fully FFT tested.
Unit pricing for the ADSD-1410 is approximately $300 in 100 piece quantities.
