Original Press Release:

Remotely Set Delay for Manual Position Changes with the DB25/X.21 BIS Interface A/B Switch

Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, announces the new PathWay® Model 7231 DB25/X.21 BIS Interface A/B Switch with Serial Remote Control which allows the sharing of a DB25/X.21 BIS Interface device between two other X.21 BIS Interface devices. M7231 can be controlled manually by front panel pushbuttons or remotely via a DB9 connector accepting RS232 Serial Data.

This compact, 2-position data switch allows the user to issue remote ASCII commands to set a pushbutton-position change delay value. This creates a "Duration Time" for which the operator must hold down the pushbutton for a period of time before the actual change of switch position occurs. All 25 interface pins on the Model 7231 are switched and switch ports are transparent to data speed and format. A wide range UL approved power module is also supplied with the unit to cover North American and European applications.
