1000W, Wide Input Range, Full Brick DC/DC Converter
Calex Mfg. Co., Inc. announces the completion of the FXW wide input range 1kW full brick series. The 1,000 W FXW series offers the highest power density in the industry for an industry standard full brick DC/DC converter with a 9-36 VDC input. The 9-36VDC input range makes this series ideal for battery connect applications using 12V and 24V battery power. Output voltages available with the FXW series are 12, 24, 28, 48, and 53VDC. The 1 kW FXW series is isolated input to output and boasts efficiencies of up to 96.9%. The FXW’s high efficiency and high power density is accomplished through the use of high efficiency synchronous rectification technology, advanced electronic circuit, packaging and thermal design. The converters operate at a fixed frequency, 200kHz, and follow conservative derating guidelines. All FXW models are built in the USA and are backed by Calex’s Five Year Warranty.
The FXW is 2.5” x 4.7” x 0.52”H and offers excellent thermal performance with a metal baseplate. The operating temperature range of the FXW is -40 to +105C. Optional heatsinks are available for extended temperature use. Input to output isolation is 1500VDC for all models. All models also offer trim and sense. The output voltage trim range is -40 to +10%. Mindful of battery powered applications, an ON/OFF function is available to minimize the current draw from the batteries when the converter is in the off state. All FXW models are protected by over current, short circuit and over temperature protection. The FXW series is UL60950 Approved.
