Heavy Duty Post Remover handles large spikes and star pickets.

Press Release Summary:

With Sevinn Heavy Duty XPR, users can lift any post from ground, regardless of profile, if it fits within patented jaw system. Manual system can remove post without bending it, enabling reuse. When positioned on ground level, remover's friction blade digs into periphery of post at acute angle, moving post upwards and out of ground once operator begins downward foot pumping action. Heavy Duty XPR is suitable for spikes, posts, and poles which have been in ground for extended period of time.

Original Press Release:

Heavy Duty Post Remover

The Sevaan Group has introduced a larger version of its successful Sevinn XPR post and picket remover to meet even greater challenges posed by a plethora of industries including agriculture, rail, general manufacturing and construction, roadworks, councils, Defence, and the concrete sector.

The Sevinn Heavy Duty XPR has essentially been developed for really big spikes and star pickets, especially the ones that have been in the ground from 20 years or more.

As is the case with the original XPR, the Heavy Duty model will lift any post from the ground, regardless of its profile, if it fits within its patented jaw system.

More often than not, the types of spikes, posts and poles which have been in the ground for an extended period of time at the very difficult types which need more upward pressure to pull them out.

Therefore, Heavy Duty XPR has twice as much lifting power as the standard XPR. Its base pedal assembly is about twice the length of the original design. It weighs a mere 6.9 kg, little more than the 4.45 kg weight of the original version.

The other important feature is that the post is removed without bending it, therefore it can be reused.

The original XPR will remove about 80% of posts from the ground, so the heavy duty version is made to take out the rest.

Clay soils pose a challenge when spikes have been in that medium for an extended period as they form a rust ball at the base of the post or spike.

With star pickets in particular, it has become a challenge forcing s spherical-shaped rust ball through a Y-shaped hole, so the Heavy Duty XPR provides that added upward pressure to successively move it through that type of soil.

Sevinn's patented invention - the XPR (star post remover) -- was developed for fast, safe removal of fence posts and pickets regularly used in the agricultural industry, around building construction sites, mines and quarries as well as public works environments.

This mechanical product has absolutely no automation but delivers an extremely high level of mechanical advantage, requiring just minor exertion from an operator using one foot.

Its very strong mechanical advantage allows safe and easy removal of star posts, Y-star posts and T-sections.

As it works from the ground level, it requires no human lift factor. When positioned on ground level, its friction blade digs into the periphery of the post at an acute angle and gives the post no option except to move upwards and out of the ground, once the operator begins the downward foot pumping action.

The XPR requires no more energy or force than that required by a common foot pump use to inflate a bicycle tyre. It breaks the seal formed by the soil and moisture that holds the pole in place.

Often, such posts have been a place for a very long time and thus become almost impossible to pull from the ground by hand because the friction is too strong.

In circumstances where a strong seal has in fact been formed, manual removal poses an OH&S risk for back and shoulders if there is over-exertion or the post suddenly comes free.
