HARRISBURG, PA - October 27, 2003 - Tyco Electronics introduces the singlemode version of the AMP NETCONNECT LightCrimp Plus fiber optic connectors. These connectors were designed to complement the multimode LightCrimp Plus connectors that have been very popular for more than four years. The singlemode connectors feature a new, fiber splice engine technology that allows for the precision alignment of cabled fiber to the factory-polished, stubbed ferrule-enabling installers to obtain low insertion loss and low reflectance. Simply terminate the fiber in three easy steps: strip the fiber, cleave the fiber and crimp the connector. The LightCrimp Plus singlemode connectors exceed TIA/EIA 568 B.3 and ISO/IEC 11801 Insertion Loss and Return Loss specifications. The AMP NETCONNECT LightCrimp Plus family of connectors is ideal for direct termination applications at patch panels and wall outlets, and for either backbone or horizontal cabling.
