8 mm Family of DC Motors, Gearheads, Encoders

With an outer diameter of only 8 mm, this new family of mini-drives provides maxi power. It is an impressive solution with a wide variety of combination possibilities using DC-Micromotors, with precision gearheads and micro-encoders.

DC-Micromotors 0816 ... S
The DC-Micromotors series 0816 ... S, available in 3, 6 and 8 Volt versions, have an exceptional power-to-volume ratio. The patented ironless rotor (System FAULHABER), with its low inductivity and extremely low inertia, is truly remarkable. Its impressive specifications include no-load speed up to 17 1000 rpm, stall torque of 0.41 mNm and output power of 0.18 Watt.

DC-Stepper Motor AM0820
The AM0820 is a two-phase Stepper Motor with permanent magnets. The use of NdFeB as a magnet material guarantees an excellent size to power ratio. The AM0820 comes in three voltages 2, 3, 5 volts and has 20 full steps per revolution and holding torque of 0.65 mNm. The AM0820 has two shaft bearings types Sintered bronze sleeves and preloaded ball bearings.

Precision Gearheads 08/1, 08/2 and 08/3
Three all-metal precision gearheads are available. The 08/1 series planetary gearhead allows maximum drive torque of 60 mNm in continuous operation and 120 mNm in intermittent operations. The two new 08/2 and 08/3 series spur gearheads, available in two executions, convince with their positioning control applications.

Magnetic Encoder HEM3-256
MicroMo redefines miniature magnetic encoders with the HEM3-256. Pushing the limits of magnetic encoder technology, the HEM3-256 offers new possibilities for application requiring miniature motors with encoders. Four resolutions are available to provide stability control and percise positional accuracy. Two voltages allow the encoder to work with 3 or 5 volt power sources allowing use in low-voltage battery power applications. Designed for robust reliability with a operating temperature range from -30°C to +85°C allows use in extreme applications.

Optical Encoder PA2-50
The PA2-50 is a 6mm diameter that fits our 0816 DC motor. Blending the best technologies, the PA2-50 expands possibilities for applications requiring miniature motors with encoders. Moving beyond magnetic technology, the PA2-50 provides an impressive 50 lines per revolution before quadrature utilizing optical technology. The increased resolution comes efficiently with a battery-friendly current draw of 8mA. Operating at 2.7 to 3.3V DC, low-voltage battery applications continue running longer with more robust feedback signal reliability.

The PA2-50 raises expectations by using leading-edge technologies. By incorporating the smallest optical encoder, Avago's AEDR 8400 provides the foundation for consistent, accurate, and high resolution that cannot be matched by magnetic encoders. Optimized for the AEDR 8400, a custom-designed code wheel maximizes the reflected light increasing the system's efficiency and signal reliability.
