American National Carbide Introduces New Turning Inserts


Tomball, TX January 4, 2002. .American National Carbide announces a new line of turning inserts available in three grades, three styles of chipbreaker geometries, and coated with multi-layer PVD coating. The new "P" Series double sided turning inserts are designed for machining steel, cast steel, steel alloys, stainless steel and other long chipping materials. With the three available grades users can select the specific insert to suit varying turning requirements: AN 3015 provides excellent resistance to flank wear and plastic deformation; AN 3025, a tougher grade, is designed for general purpose applications; AN 3035 has the wear resistance for machining under difficult conditions. Three insert styles include P2 which provides excellent chip control for light feed rates and shallow depths of cut; P3 style suits a wider range of general purpose applications with excellent chip control; the P4 style is designed for high metal removal rates encompassing heavy feed rates and large depths of cut.
