New Product Offering from Georgia-Pacific: Water-Repellent Plywood Sub-Floor

ATLANTA, Feb. 7 -- Georgia-Pacific Wood Products LLC announces a new solution for residential builders interested in protecting sub-floors before the roof and exterior walls go up during the initial stages of the construction process. Plytanium(R) DryPly(TM) plywood, with a water- repellent coating, helps protect against rain- and moisture-related problems during the normal construction cycle (1). For added security, Georgia-Pacific offers a 100 percent Builder Satisfaction Guarantee (2) against delamination, edge swell and joint sanding.

"Given that builders are looking for ways to protect the homes they build from the weather at every stage of the construction process, we feel they will find this product very beneficial," said Pat Lynch, vice president of sales for Georgia-Pacific wood products.

Additionally, Georgia-Pacific is giving builders an incentive to try the product for themselves through the DryPly(TM) Builder Partnership Program. The unique program is offering rebates and sales tools to builders who join the program, including literature, tent cards and jobsite signs. For more information on this program, visit www.dryply.com.

Plytanium(R) DryPly(TM) Plywood is available to professional dealers and retail lumber yards exclusively through BlueLinx Corporation (NYSE:BXC), a leading national building products distributor, and will complement the other Georgia-Pacific wood products that BlueLinx distributes.

"The joint industry knowledge and expertise shared by Georgia-Pacific and BlueLinx create a powerful partnership for marketing and distributing this value-added sub-flooring product," said Jim Herbig, vice president of commodity wood products for BlueLinx.

Plywood has long been a choice of builders for sub-floors, roofs and walls because of its stiffness and durability. Many homeowners prefer plywood because it lends itself to quieter floors and it gives them the options to change floor coverings, whether carpet, hardwood or tile.
