3D Systems Previews its New Generation, Larger 3-D Printing Format


The ProJet(TM) 5000 3-D Production System, a Next-Generation Multi-Jet Printing System, is on Display at the 3D Systems World Conference

ROCK HILL, S.C., Oct. 20, 2008 - 3D Systems Corporation, a leading provider of 3-D Printing, Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing solutions, plans to discuss the development status of its next-generation ProJet(TM) 5000 3-D Production System tomorrow morning during its annual World Conference in Charlotte, NC.

This new, larger format, high-speed 3-D Printer is designed to deliver high-definition parts from a variety of plastic and wax materials that can be configured and selected interchangeably. 3D Systems will display this new system during its World Conference as part of a series of technology announcements that it is making during the global event. The company plans to commercialize this new generation of systems in 2009.

The ProJet(TM) 5000 3-D Production System is designed to incorporate the next generation of 3D Systems' patented and proprietary Multi-Jet Printing (MJP) technology with features that include versatile build resolutions to fit all applications, remote diagnostics for easy serviceability, and a wide-range of interchangeable plastic and wax material options. The ProJet(TM) 5000 is designed to have the largest build platform within the ProJet(TM) family as well as the ability to produce parts in excess of 19.5 inches (or 500 mm) long.
