PC/104-Plus Triple-port Fast Ethernet Module Ready to Drive Network Applications
TAIPEI-Oct 28, 2001 -After the announcement of a series of PC/104-Plus modules, Arbor has recently added a latest member to its Em-104 family, the Em104P-LAN100NT. The Ethernet module is a compact interface that incorporates three Intel 82559 Ethernet controllers that offer flexible, high-performance Ethernet networking capability at 10- or 100-megabits/second data rates.
The Em104P-LAN100NT includes a built-in 10 pin box header and RJ-45 connectors. Three diagnostic LEDs which can be defined according to application indicate the operating status of network and module. Addition to a Wake-ON-LAN functionality, an optional boot ROM is available to allow booting a remote station automatically from a server, making hard or floppy disks unnecessary.
By incorporating the PCI bus interface within the industrial standard PC/104 form-factor, the PC/104-Plus had brought many advantages to its users. These benefits include faster data transfer over a PCI bus, lower cost due to its unique self-stacking bus, and higher reliability due to PC/104's inherent ruggedness.
