2FA, Inc. Announces RFID-based One-Time Password (OTP) Authentication

NEW ORLEANS — In preparation for VARTECH 2014, 2FA, Inc., an Austin, Texas-based cybersecurity company focused on authentication and SSO announced today that their flagship product, 2FA ONE, will support the ability to generate a OTP through the presentation of an RFID device.

As a pioneer of user-based RFID authentication, 2FA's solutions have leveraged the existence of RFID technology, used for physical access, for many years. RFID authentication is broadly deployed in healthcare and other industries for convenience and compliance with various regulations.

Emerging compliance requirements in healthcare and other industries seek to strengthen the use of RFID authentication or prohibit the use of the technology for specific authentication events, such as a prescriber verifying a prescription for a schedule II controlled substance. This prohibition has left healthcare organizations scrambling for alternative solutions.

"There are lots of OTP providers in the market, a handful of vendors that provide RFID authentication solutions, but there are none that are capable of integrating the two. I'm happy to say that 2FA is the first. As a valued and innovative partner, we have selected RF IDeas' pcProx Plus technology to bring the solution to market," says Greg Salyards, 2FA President  CEO.

"We're excited to work with valued partners, such as 2FA, to bring fresh and innovative solutions to the market that address real market demands," says Greg Gliniecki, Co-Founder RF IDeas, Inc.
