Tech Ed Connection Lures Aerospace Company to Oklahoma

Valkyrie Systems Aerospace (VSA) recently announced a partnership with the state of Oklahoma that will create a minimum of 350 jobs over the next five years. The aerospace firm designs and manufactures unmanned and optionally piloted Hoverjets that can take off and land vertically. These crafts can be used for medical evacuation, extraction of personnel and equipment, real-time situational awareness and threat detection, re-establishment of downed communications systems, or firefighting applications.

The company will be constructing manufacturing and flight operations facilities in Oklahoma City. Resources from the state’s 21st Century Quality Jobs Program is helping to support the job creation.

VSA reportedly chose to partner with Oklahoma for a number of reasons. The first stemming from the ability to integrate with Oklahoma State University’s autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles program, as well as the University of Oklahoma's aviation and aerospace engineering program. The company was also impressed with the talent level of the state’s workforce, Oklahoma’s lower operational costs, and the number of other prominent aerospace companies that already call the Sooner State home.
