Strong Housing Market Aids Expansion

Walnut Creek, Ohio-based ProVia recently announced expansion plans that will bring an estimated 200 manufacturing jobs to the area over the next five years. The new manufacturing and distribution plant in Strasburg is scheduled for completion by late 2019 or early 2020.

Company officials reportedly selected the site of the new facility due to its proximity to the state highway system, and that it represents a centralized location for finding qualified workers. ProVia currently operates plants in Walnut Creek, Sugarcreek, Cherry Ridge, Baltic, and Strasburg, Ohio, as well as Booneville, Mississippi. It employs nearly 900 workers. The company was founded in 1977 by Bill Mullet. He manufactured the company’s first products in a converted maintenance garage purchased from the city.

ProVia produces a number of home construction and remodeling products, including aluminum and vinyl doors and windows. Due to spikes in demand, the new distribution center will be vital in helping the company to manage its finished product and raw material inventory more effectively. The continued growth and strength of the housing and remodeling markets has helped fuel the company’s growth and the need for expansion.
