State Documents Show Planned Jabil Expansion in Kentucky

Contract manufacturing giant Jabil reportedly expects to hire more than 250 employees at a new facility planned in northern Kentucky.

Documents from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority detailed the proposed complex in Florence, Kentucky, the Cincinnati Business Courier reports. The report added that Jabil received preliminary approval for a 10-year, $2 million tax incentive package from the Kentucky Business Investment Program earlier this month.

The company plans to invest $3.8 million in building costs and upgrades, and expects to pay more than $9.7 million in rent. The facility, Jabil’s second in the state, would bolster its U.S. manufacturing capacity, the documents indicated.

The company is headquartered in Florida but employs about 170,000 people in more than 100 plants across 29 countries. Neither the company nor local officials commented on the development or the proposed incentives.
