Stanley Inaugurates New High-Tech Manufacturing Facility in Ohio

Stanley Engineered Fastening opened its new advanced manufacturing facility in northern Ohio, officials announced recently.

The fastening and assembly subsidiary of tool giant Stanley Black & Decker said the factory in Elyria, Ohio, would produce stud welding equipment, weld studs, and fasteners for the industrial, construction, and defense sectors.

Stanley officials also said the facility is expected to add industrial Internet of Things capabilities to its machines by the third quarter of the year, and that the connected technologies would create a safer, more efficient plant environment.

James Ray, the division’s vice president of global operations, called the new factory “an investment in the U.S. manufacturing industry, our hardworking employees, our loyal customers, and the city of Elyria.”

Stanley expects the plant to initially house 70 employees and include sufficient space for future expansion.
