Futuristic Hover Coupe Inspired by Old Luxury Cars

Lazzarini Design is an Italian design firm that has an eye for designing for the future.

As first reported on New Atlas, the company is behind some interesting concepts, particularly the Hover Coupe, a futuristic hovercraft concept inspired by the Tipo 8, a luxury Italian car made from 1919 to 1924.

In Lazzarini's updated design, the classic car trades its wheels for four jet engines mounted to an extremely light carbon body structure.

Now, let's not forget that this is nothing more than a concept and a rendering at this stage. Nothing serves as a stronger reminder than the fact that Lazzarini claims that the car could hypothetically reach more than 340 MPH (550 km/h).

The Hover Coupe would maneuver much like a drone, turning left and right by releasing air inside of the turbines.

Lazzarini is behind some pretty wild concepts, including the I.F.O. (Identified Flying Object), a two-person flying aircraft, the Pacha Cycle, the Iglu three-wheeled electric car, and the Advenia superyacht.
