Fujifilm Electronic Materials U.S.A., a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Fujifilm Holdings Corp., recently began a $91 million investment project focused on the company’s manufacturing and development facilities in Mesa, Arizona, and North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Fujifilm also has related facilities throughout Europe and Asia.
The 10-year project is focused on helping the company meet growing global demands for electronics material production. More specifically, these facilities focus on providing a collection of chemicals, chemical delivery systems, imaging equipment, and materials used in the production of semiconductors.
Specifics are not yet available for the North Kingstown location, but company officials expect the Mesa, Arizona, site expansion to take around 18 months. Once completed, it will comprise approximately 85,000 square feet of additional space in the form of five new buildings for manufacturing, warehousing, and research and development.
The expanded plant will be adjacent to the company’s existing 243,000-square-foot campus in Mesa, Arizona. Fujifilm Electronics Materials currently employs about 260 people at the existing plant in Mesa, Arizona, and plans to hire another 60 once the expansion is complete.
