Flooring manufacturer Mannington Mills has announced plans to create more than 200 jobs via the construction of a new $42 million production facility in Calhoun, Georgia. The company has purchased a 78-acre site as part of the new expansion project. The Georgia Department of Economic Development was heavily involved in helping Mannington Mills continue to expand their presence in the area.
The new jobs will include roles in production, management, and engineering, as well as supervisory and administrative positions. The new site will be located less than one mile from a current Mannington commercial facility that employs more than 700 people in 800,000 square feet of manufacturing, warehouse, and office space.
The company is one of the world's leading manufacturers of residential and commercial flooring with operations in six states, the United Kingdom, and other parts of Europe. Based out of Salem, New Jersey, Mannington Mills manufactures residential and commercial sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl, laminate, resilient, and hardwood floors. It also produces commercial carpet and rubber under the Mannington Residential, Mannington Commercial, Amtico, and Burke brands.
