SHENZHEN, China, Feb. 28 -- Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) and Avnet Electronics Marketing today announced that they will jointly showcase their latest cost-effective, flexible programmable logic solutions to accelerate digital consumer and video processing designs at International IC China Conference & Exhibition 2007 in Shenzhen, China from March 5-6, 2007. Chinese design engineers can visit the joint Xilinx/Avnet booth to see live digital consumer and video processing demonstrations based on the Xilinx 65nm Virtex(TM)-5 multi-platform FPGA family; 90nm Spartan(TM)-3 generation of low-cost, high-volume FPGA families; and CoolRunner(TM)-II low-power, low-cost CPLD family. Tradeshow visitors can also attend two seminar presentations on digital consumer electronics and embedded systems presented by Xilinx divisional heads based in China.
Xilinx/Avnet Demonstrations - Hall 2, 1st Floor, Booth #2D29
o Low-power digital consumer solution: Greater low power designs can be
attained with the use of CoolRunner-II DataGATE technology. DataGATE
disables unused input pins, reducing power consumption -- almost
99 percent lower than traditional low power CPLDs! In all, DataGATE
enables CoolRunner-II CPLDs to be a small fraction of the system power
consumption -- no other CPLD has this capability.
o Smart handset platform: Demonstration focuses on the methodology used to
quickly incorporate new features while meeting stringent power
consumption, size, and cost requirements of the dynamic converged
handset market. Two separate platforms feature a Texas Instruments OMAP
and a Marvell Xscale processor driven central motherboard. Several
plug-in modules powered by Xilinx low-cost CoolRunner-II CPLDs showcase
WiFi, mobile video, and emerging memory interfaces.
o High-end digital display solution: Demonstration of fully programmable
development platform based on Xilinx Spartan-3E low-cost FPGAs for
design and validation of high-end digital display applications such as
flat panel TV/monitors, rear projection TVs, and digital projectors.
o Video-over-IP platform: Demonstration highlighting the embedded features
of the Virtex platform including high speed I/O, Ethernet MACs and high
performance processors. The new Video-over-IP reference designs provide
a flexible and highly integrated bridge between multiple DVB-ASI streams
and Gigabit Ethernet packets.
o Programmable PCI Express® solutions: Demonstration of high performance
8-lane PCIe® compliant endpoint IP solution targeted for a Virtex-5
LXT device in an add-in card form factor and compliance certified at
PCI-SIG Plugfest #48. The demonstration will also feature a low-cost
1-lane IP solution for PCIe-PIPE endpoint implemented in a Spartan-3
FPGA -- in an add-in card form factor and compliance certified at
PCI-SIG Plugfest #45. Both high-performance and low-cost programmable
PCIe solutions are fully compliant with PCIe base spec v1.1.
