XCMG to Integrate Trimble Machine Control Technology with Excavators for the Global Market

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 7, 2016 - Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) and XCMG Excavator Machinery Business Division (XCMG) announced today a commitment to work together to integrate Trimble machine control solutions with XCMG excavators to deliver cutting-edge technologies for the global market. Integrating Trimble machine control will allow XCMG customers to take advantage of Trimble® Connected Site® Solutions such as 3D constructible models and as-built data.

The announcement was made at Trimble Dimensions.

XCMG will make certain excavator models available from the factory Trimble Ready to enable the installation of Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System components. The fast and simplified installation process eliminates the requirement for drilling, welding, re-painting or disassembly when installing a Trimble 2D or 3D machine control solution, which can reduce machine downtime.

The Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System is a machine control system for earthworks that makes design surfaces, grades and alignments accessible to the operator on a display inside the cab. The system uses GNSS, GPS, laser, sonic or total station technology to accurately position the blade or bucket in real-time, significantly reducing material overages and improving the contractor's productivity and efficiency.

"Integrating Trimble machine control solutions on XCMG Excavators will deliver additional customer value. Trimble's experience in delivering premium machine control systems and Connected Site solutions made the choice easy. The combined solution will provide our customers with an even more compelling reason to choose XCMG excavators," said Zhang Hong, vice general manager of XCMG Excavator Machinery Business Division.

"We are excited to work with XCMG to make Trimble machine control and Connected Site solutions available for their excavators," said Jim Green, business area director for Trimble OEM Solutions, Civil Engineering and Construction Division. "The integration of Trimble solutions allows our mutual customers to more easily access and implement construction technology for improved competitiveness, efficiency and productivity."
