CAS Announces New DT85GM for Geotechnical Applications

Featuring Integrated Cellular Modem Enabling Remote Access

CHESTERLAND OH-August 2, 2011
CAS DataLoggers has partnered with bestselling manufacturer dataTaker to announce the DT85GM Intelligent Vibrating Wire Data Logger, designed for remote monitoring applications in the geotechnical and construction industries. This new low-power solution offers the same functionality as the popular DT85G data logger but adds a built-in cellular modem for remote access, networkability, and automated data transfer. Additionally, the DT85GM features vibrating wire strain gauge support and is compatible with other geotechnical instruments to handle many geotechnical data logging applications, including mining exploration, dam wall monitoring, tunnel excavation and more.

The DT85GM has 16 to 48 universal analog sensor channels, expandable up to 900 analog inputs, as well as 8 Bi-Directional Digital Channels and 4 High Speed Counter Channels. Measurements are performed within a ±30 Vdc input measurement range, and the device's generous memory stores up to 10 million data points. Four SDI-12 channels are also standard as well as SDI-12 and Modbus sensor support. The DT85GM also boasts dataTaker's renowned rugged design and construction, providing reliable operation even in harsh construction environments.

This sophisticated data logger also features a built-in web server with an enhanced web interface and also supports Ethernet, or USB with a PC as well as USB memory stick capability. Automated data delivery features schedule collected data to be automatically emailed to a specified inbox every day or at other time intervals. Advanced alarm conditions can send alert messages to multiple email addresses or mobile phones in addition to triggering data delivery.

Free dEX logger software is built-in, so there's no space-wasting applications to install. The dEX intuitive graphical interface can be accessed locally or remotely, anywhere that a TCP/IP connection is available including worldwide over the Internet. dEX runs directly from a web browser allowing users to quickly and easily configure the logger, view real-time data in mimics, trend charts and tables, and retrieve historical data for analysis. Using the internal modem, users can even reconfigure their systems remotely over the Internet. Logged data is easily imported into common spreadsheet and data processing applications such as Excel for further analysis and reporting. Data can be saved to a PC in .csv format or proprietary binary (.DBD) format.
