Why Should Good Quality Blasting Abrasives Matter to You?

When purchasing loose abrasives for blasting applications, one important measure of quality is the grading of the grits. High quality, closely graded grits contain less fines which means that more grits are hitting your work piece and less are going into your dust collector. A poor quality abrasive will contain more fines and those fines not only have a poor abrasive efficiency on the surface you're blasting, most of them are funneled right up into your dust collector before they even hit the material's surface. A lower quality blasting abrasive may seem cheaper, but the dollars you think you saved may have only gone into your dust collector. While sending dollar bills into your dust collector, you also probably ended up having to consume even more abrasives to finish your job.
