WeylChem Selects NovaTech for Site Expansion
QUAKERTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA (June 14, 2018) Global automation supplier, NovaTech, LLC announced that it has installed its process automation equipment at the WeylChem US manufacturing facility in Elgin, South Carolina. NovaTech’s D/3® Distributed Control System (DCS) is part of a new $10 million site expansion which is needed to support a long-term, customer tolling project.
The D/3 controls and automates the production of polymer at the WeylChem site.
WeylChem Group of Companies was established in 2005 as the Fine Chemicals platform of International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG), a privately owned industrial holding company based in Frankfurt, Germany.
“The D/3 DCS was chosen based on its proven reliability and its low total cost of ownership,” said WeylChem COO, Christian Bremer. “In addition, NovaTech will be able to provide ongoing engineering support from their local offices located in Aiken, SC and Shelby, NC.”
The Elgin, SC site provides custom and toll manufacturing, with additional expertise in the production of reagents. End markets include agrochemicals, plastics and additives, pharmaceutical intermediates, energy, fuel additives and lubricants, and specialty chemicals.
