Welding Inspires Chain Reaction of Creativity: Lincoln Electric Tapped as Welding Supplier to Discovery Channel's New Series Unchained Reaction
Creative Competitors to use Lincoln Electric Welders to Fabricate Chain Reaction Contraptions
Cleveland - The zaniest, most creative set of dominoes you've ever seen is about to crash its way onto the small screen. The new Discovery Channel series Unchained Reaction, executive produced by MythBusters' Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, puts the ingenuity of everyone from rocket scientists to the girl next door to the test as two teams compete to build the most impressive and elaborate chain reaction contraption in just five short days. As no stranger to innovation and creative thinking, Lincoln Electric was selected as the welding supplier for the show.
The pressure and pyrotechnics are on as the teams race to find the most imaginative way to utilize their identical sets of tools and materials. Both teams must build a mechanism that fulfills the requirements of that week's theme, but only one can be named the winner. At the end of each episode, executive producers Savage and Hyneman, along with a weekly guest judge, will decide which team built the biggest, baddest, most jaw-dropping spectacle.
As they put together their crazy contraptions, the teams will have a variety of the latest Lincoln Electric equipment at their disposal, including POWER MIG® and Precision TIG® welders, Tomahawk® plasma cutting systems, VIKING(TM) Auto-Darkening Welding Helmets and Red Line(TM) Welding Apparel.
