Watlow® Announces New Vice President, Human Resources
Watlow®, an industry leader in the design and manufacture of complete thermal systems, recently promoted Sheryl Hicks to vice president of human resources.
Hicks joined Watlow in 2001 as human resources manager for the company’s Richmond, Illinois facility. Over the past 12 years, she has supported many different segments within the organization including the sensor and cast-in heater lines of business, the diesel emissions strategic business unit and was also the key business partner to the continuous improvement (CI) team. She has also helped facilitate many initiatives including creating the Learning Center, defining the roles, responsibilities and structure for MDI (Managing for Daily Improvement) and recommending new principles for guiding Watlow’s leaders. Before accepting the position of vice president, Sheryl was the director of human resources and organizational development.
“For the past year and a half, Sheryl has been working closely with Watlow’s executive team, and has done an excellent job helping us understand the importance of our Watlow Way culture, how to create greater clarity and cohesiveness toward product leadership growth and how to organize to deliver our value proposition,” said Peter Desloge, Watlow CEO. “With Sheryl’s knowledge and experience with Watlow, and her extensive background in human resources and organizational development, she is the ideal candidate to take over as our new vice president of human resources.” Hicks holds a Bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Iowa and a Master’s degree in human resources development from Webster University. In addition, she has achieved both Bronze and Silver certification through the Watlow/Simpler Lean training program.
