Walter Meier Acquires UK-Based JS Humidifiers

With the acquisition of the UK market leader in humidification, the climate and manufacturing technology group Walter Meier is consolidating its leading position in the global humidification market.

Following its recent acquisition of its distributor in Denmark, the purchase of JS Humidifiers is a further contribution to Walter Meier's development strategy of direct involvement in important markets. Comments CEO Silvan G.-R. Meier, "For us, acquiring the established market leader in the UK is the most effective means of developing the key British market successfully. We have always known that JS held the key to us becoming the number one in the British humidification sector. We are now absolutely delighted that we will be pursuing a common future." Walter Meier is also hoping for further benefits from collaborating in the export business; JS is very successful in exporting to India, for instance. JS also has an extremely attractive product range in energy-efficient humidifiers and evaporative coolers, which represent welcome additions to Walter Meier's Condair range.

JS Humidifiers was established in 1980 and is the leading supplier of humidification equipment and systems in the UK. In 2010, JS achieved sales of CHF 13 million and employed just under 60 employees, all of whom will be kept on. The current management team will continue to be responsible for running JS. Its headquarters and manufacturing centre will remain in Rustington, West Sussex.
