Vonage® Commends FCC For Extending Enforcement Deadline On Affirmative Acknowledgement Requirement For 911 Order


Edison, NJ, September 28, 2005 - Vonage America, a subsidiary of Vonage Holdings Corp., announced today that in an effort to comply with the FCC's 911 Order, it has gained affirmative acknowledgement from nearly 99% of its customers to date. Vonage has been working diligently since July to gain affirmative acknowledgement of the differences between VoIP 911 services and traditional Enhanced 911. The company will continue to pursue acknowledgement from the remaining 10,000 customers and Vonage will inform the commission when it has gained affirmative acknowledgement from 100% of its customers.

"The Commission has put much thought and deliberation into establishing a baseline threshold of 90% affirmative acknowledgement and should be praised for their leadership."

The FCC's Enforcement Bureau today advised it will not pursue enforcement action against VoIP providers who have reported receiving acknowledgement from 90% of their subscriber base.

"We are also working as hard as we can to turn E-911 up as quickly as possible to meet the FCC's 120-day requirement," added Citron.

Vonage has and will continue to devote significant resources to inform customers of the limitations of VoIP 911. The Company expects to make E-911 available to the majority of its customers before the end of the year.
