Trailer of Newly Revised ATS Program Available for Viewing in TIA Booth at 2010 Global Tire Expo - Powered by TIA

Bowie, MD - The Tire Industry Association (TIA), one of the leading global authorities on tires, today announced that a video trailer for their newly revised Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Program is available for viewing for the first time ever in their booth (# 40059) at the Global Tire Expo - Powered by TIA/SEMA Show. The trailer features some of the new content that will be included in the much-anticipated update to the certification material. Following the Expo, the trailer will be available to view or download at no charge on TIA's Web site, www.tireindustry.org.

The newly revised Certified ATS Program is divided into 15 different training modules, ranging from torque and clamping force to TPMS relearn and diagnostic procedures. It also includes various resources from the Rubber Manufacturers Association, the Automotive Lift Institute, and the Tire and Rim Association, as well as a copy of the 2010 edition of the TIA TPMS Relearn Chart in an 8.5 x 11" format.

"Since 2003, more than 5,000 people have achieved Certified ATS Instructor or Technician status, so we are confident that number will continue to grow when the newly revised ATS Program is released early next year," said TIA Senior Vice President of training Kevin Rohlwing. Rohlwing went on to say, "In order to remain the industry leader in technician training, we need a passenger and light truck tire program that can measure up to the successful earthmover and commercial programs which were released in the past two years.

TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield remarked, "This trailer will show the industry that TIA is committed to stay on the leading edge of training program development. TIA is widely regarded as having the best tire service training programs in the industry, and this updated ATS program is proof that TIA will continue to not only provide training that is not only complete, but up to date, as well."

About TIA:

TIA is an international association representing all segments of the tire industry, including those that manufacture, repair, recycle, sell, service or use new or retreaded tires, and also those suppliers or individuals who furnish equipment, material or services to the industry. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has a history that spans more than 80 years and includes several name changes. Originally known as the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association (NTDRA), the organization gave birth over the years to the American Retreaders Association (ARA) and the Tire Association of North America (TANA). ARA changed its name to the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) and merged with TANA in 2002 to form the current Tire Industry Association (TIA), which now represents every interest in the tire industry.
