VeriFone Managed Services to Enhance Payment Operations and Security for Réseau Clubs Bouygues Telecom

Comprehensive managed services unify payment operations and reporting across retail affiliate of third largest French mobile phone operator

PARIS — (CARTES, Booth #4 J 062) – VeriFone Systems, Inc. (NYSE: PAY), announced today at CARTES 2013 in Paris that it has been awarded a comprehensive managed payment services contract by Réseau Clubs Bouygues Telecom, the consumer retail affiliate of Bouygues Telecom, one of France's largest fixed-mobile operators.  VeriFone will provide its managed services software—PAYware Wynid—as well as helpdesk support, gateway services and VX 820 advanced PIN acceptance devices that support all types of electronic transactions.

VeriFone's VX 820 PIN pads will help Réseau Clubs Bouygues Telecom engage customers and drive revenues by delivering targeted promotional and branding messages to customers during checkout through the devices' color touch screen. PAYware Wynid will consolidate and route all electronic payments made at each of Réseau Clubs Bouygues Telecom's 400 retail stores through a single gateway that utilizes VeriFone's encryption and tokenization services and is hosted in a PCI DSS validated hosting center.

"We anticipate that VeriFone's managed services software will meet the needs of all of our retail locations," said Yves Le Merrer, Operations and IT Operations Director for Réseau Clubs Bouygues Telecom. "Once the deployment is complete, VeriFone's gateway, which is hosted in a PCI DSS validated data center, and the software's consolidated reporting functions and other centralized services will help us increase payment security and streamline operations."

In addition to helping Réseau Clubs Bouygues Telecom ensure payment security, PAYware Wynid also improves the retailer's ability to analyze operations by providing consolidated views of all electronic transactions that occur across each of its store locations.

VeriFone was awarded the contract following a competitive bidding process in which Réseau Clubs Bouygues Telecom sought highly secure centralized services to provide greater cost optimization and simplified maintenance of payment operations.

"Réseau Club Bouygues Telecom will be able to enjoy all the benefits of having a state-of-the-art local payments infrastructure in place across its entire retail store network," said Vincent Roland, vice president and general manager, VeriFone France. "These benefits include improved security and consolidated payment reporting capabilities that mitigate the complexities often associated with payment system management."

PAYware Wynid—VeriFone's managed payments platform for France—is used by some of the country's largest retailers, transportation companies and well-recognized brands. The company's payment solutions and services developed specifically for the French market are built on its local expertise and experience. With more than 430 employees and 15 offices in Paris and other parts of France, VeriFone's activity in the country covers hardware, software development, deployment, customer services, consultation, ecommerce and much more.
