VectorWorks User Leers Weinzapfel Associates Wins 2007 AIA Architecture Firm Award

Columbia, MD (February 8, 2007) - Nemetschek North America congratulates VectorWorks user Leers Weinzapfel Associates for winning the 2007 AIA Architecture Firm Award. This award is the highest honor the AIA bestows on an architectural firm and recognizes a practice that consistently has produced distinguished architecture for at least ten years. The AIA Board of Directors awarded the Boston-based firm this honor based on its proven, consistent ability to accept complex challenges and envision design of elegant distinction.

According to the AIA Board of Directors, partners Andrea P. Leers, FAIA; Jane Weinzapfel, FAIA; Joe Pryse, AIA; and Josiah Stevenson, AIA, meld a bold and refined architecture for the public realm, including transportation and urban infrastructure, the joining of new elements to existing buildings, and athletic and campus-life facilities.

"The combination of the Macintosh® operating systems and evolution of VectorWorks has been a great asset to our firm over the years," says Leers Weinzapfel architect Nicolas D'Angelo. "We've used VectorWorks since it was MiniCAD and like working with it because it's powerful, yet very easy to use-a real plus, as we are training new employees all the time, and, for a long time, its interface has had many things in common with other popular programs. AutoCAD compatibility is better than ever in version 12.5.1, while still retaining all the great features that make VectorWorks unique, such as its use of scales, layers and classes, easy-to-use object attributes, trouble-free printing and much more."

The award will be presented at the American Architectural Foundation Accent on Architecture Gala February 9, 2007, at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.
