VANGUARD PRODUCTS INCREASES THROUGHPUT IN SUPPORT OF COVID-19 RESPONSE EFFORTS
At Vanguard Products, throughout our 54 years in business we have a history of quietly and steadily responding to the needs of the United States and the world with precision engineered and economically viable engineered elastomer products including silicone tubing and extrusions. We have maintained and grown our US manufacturing base to service the needs of the US military and law enforcement community whenever presented with a challenge by them or their suppliers in response to the call to provide for the safety and security of the public. Through steady ownership and management, we have committed to a strong US manufacturing base for both our molded and extruded products.
Over the years, we have developed and grown our supply of custom formulated silicone tubing and extrusions to the medical device industry for non-invasive applications. These applications include, but are not limited to, products such as silicone tubing for ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP machines; silicone tubing for oxygen generators; silicone tubing for disinfecting and cleaning assembly; custom formulated components for diabetic support and general analytic devices; EMI shielding products for medical electronics; and silicone tubing and fluorosilicone tubing for surgical implements and support devices This broad spectrum of offering from the standpoint of materials, processing methods, and applications gives our customers the confidence of being able to have a one stop supplier of not only precision, economical silicone tubing, but nearly any extruded or molded engineering elastomer directly from the US manufacturing point with extensive engineering and application support.
In 2020, we are quietly responding to the call to defend the wellbeing of the population in a different way than in the past—through servicing our medical “defense” customers as opposed to our traditional national defense customers. To do so, we have increased our capacity and capabilities to respond to urgent silicone tubing, profile extrusion, and molding needs with extraordinarily reduced lead-times and economical costs. Indeed, in the past couple of months, we have “answered the bell” with hundreds of thousands of linear feet of extrusion produced in some cases within days or hours of being presented with the challenge. We have accomplished all of this while improving our robust protection of our workers through intense workplace sanitation, workplace separation, increased implementation of personal protection equipment, and personal health awareness.
In times when many people are working with a reduced workforce, working remotely, or are stretched for internal resources, our ability to service the broad range of elastomeric requirements allows our customers to have one less “stress point” in their workday.
Because of these added provisions, our primary question in communicating with our customers in dealing with this crisis is “What do you need and when do you need it?” and making it happen.
