New DEHP-free InteliShield(TM) Barrier Film Empowers Ostomy Users to Act Confidently

CHICAGO - Vancive Medical Technologies(TM) will exhibit a broad range of innovative solutions for developers, manufacturers and converters of temporary adherent medical devices at MD&M West, February 12 - 14, 2013, Anaheim Convention Center, Booth 712.

Products include the new DEHP-free InteliShield(TM) Barrier Film, the BeneHold(TM) Securement and Wound Care Solutions Platform, and Thin Absorbent Skin Adhesive, along with pressure sensitive adhesives in single and double-coated, self wound and transfer tape constructions.

According to Colleen Ward, vice president global marketing, the unique needs of Vancive customers are at the heart of each product.

"Our exhibit reflects Vancive's commitment to supporting medical device manufacturers, converters and end users with technologies that help people be more connected with and conscious about healthcare. This leads to better results for everyone. Visitors to Vancive's booth will see examples of how this commitment has led to novel solutions such as InteliShield barrier film, and also innovations in medical adhesives that empower users to act confidently and which will inspire innovation throughout the healthcare industry."

InteliShield Barrier Film

InteliShield barrier film for ostomy applications is designed with a novel combination of plastics that is PVC-, PVdC- and plasticizer free, and free from DEHP, a substance that is gaining more regulatory attention globally. Ostomy bags fabricated from the film have passed or exceeded the industry's demanding standard requirements. The InteliShield film features an optional non-leaching antimicrobial inner surface, which has been shown to be effective in rapidly killing a range of bacteria.

The BeneHold Securement and Wound Care Solutions Platform

Vancive's BeneHold Securement and Wound Care Solutions Platform includes the new BeneHold Absorbent Wound Dressing Portfolio. The dressings manage lightly to moderately exuding chronic and acute wounds and exhibit superior fluid handling capacity, yet are thin and conformable to enhance patient comfort. They come in a variety of formulations and constructions to suit different wound types and conditions.

BeneHold securement solutions, available as components or finished products, include the BeneHold(TM) Medical Tape Strips and the BeneHold(TM) Tube Fixation Device.

Thin Absorbent Skin Adhesive

The Vancive Thin Absorbent Skin Adhesive (TASA) platform utilizes a proprietary formulation that has adhesion properties and a moisture vapor transmission rate comparable to traditional acrylic adhesives, while delivering superior fluid handling capacities (FHC) that support extended wear time. The fluid handling characteristics prevent moisture build-up to minimize skin maceration. Vancive will expand this platform into the stomacare market in the first quarter of 2013 with a soft non-woven backed product that enhances the comfort, flexibility of ostomy bag flanges while reducing the profile significantly.

Pressure Sensitive Adhesives

In addition to the new products Vancive is also exhibiting a range of single and double-coated, self-wound and transfer tapes that come with silicone-coated liners meet adhesives needs for wound care, surgical, device mounting, ostomy and electromedical applications. The silicone liners help the tapes unwind easily and laminate to various substrates.
