"Compensation Strategies to Strengthen Workforce Recruitment, Retention and Motivation" March 6-7

DENVER, Feb. 15 /-- Water utility managers, supervisors, human resources personnel and financial officers will tackle impending workforce concerns and discuss strategies for recruitment and retention at a seminar hosted by the American Water Works Association (AWWA), March 6-7, at The Westin Casuarina in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to AWWA's 2007 State of the Industry Report, sustainability of human resources has become one of the top five near-term critical issues for water utilities. "Compensation Strategies to Strengthen Workforce Recruitment, Retention, and Motivation" is a two-day seminar designed to provide tools and long-term solutions for maintaining a strong and content workforce. Instructor Robert J. Greene, CEO of Reward Systems in Glenview, Illinois, will discuss processes for evaluating current compensation strategies and ways in which to modify or create new compensation programs. Topics include variable pay plans, competitive pay structures, performance measures and rewards.

Greene contributes more than 30 years of related experience as a compensation consultant in the Chicago area. He has published more than 75 articles and has designed and taught courses for the Society for Human Resources Management and the American Compensation Association. He has served AWWA as an instructor and technical advisor and the designer of the AWWA Water Utility Compensation Survey. Greene was awarded the first Keystone Award by the American Compensation Association for achieving the highest level of excellence in his field.
